Algarve House Hunters made what would have a daunting and tedious task an enjoyable experience.coming from the U.S.A I had little experience with Portuguese Real Estate, after contacting Algarve House Hunters, Rebeca Charles contacted me and started setting up video chats while I was still in the U.S , through the video chats she was able to determine my likes in dislikes on various properties, upon arriving in Portugal, Rebeca and Karen Stanley were there with a list of properties to view, talk about hitting the road running! While viewing properties Rebeca with her list of contacts was able to introduce me to an attorney and a currency exchange person, this was a big help, now today a month and a half in I will be passing papers on a new property! If you are looking to buy a property in the Tavira and Eastern Algarve region then you should look no further than Rebecca Charles - I will tell you why. I initially went to the internet search engines; I spent hours listing properties, trying to find their locations and what those locations offered. Obviously we found it rather difficult trying to choose from 1500 miles away. A number of estate agents offered appointments on one or two properties but did not try to establish what we really wanted. To be quite honest - we did not really know ourselves! We were so lucky that when I contacted Algarve Property Hunters, Rebecca took my call………..and the rest is history!

We got this contact from Facebook, highly recommended. And so far, we can only say every word is true. From the moment we contacted, we lived still in the UK, Rebecca guided us and made our wishes transparant with an excel sheet. So we had an opportunities and No page. Some properties were sold before we arrived I. Portugal, but that is part of the risk we took. We settled ourselves on the Cabanas campsite and Rebecca let us view houses in our own pace. They have all been instrumental in the rather complex process of buying a house in Portugal. We are a British couple who work remotely and its always been a dream of ours to own a house overseas. My husband Rob and I are moving from the UK to Portugal at the end of 2023. Rebecca Charles is a Buyer’s Agent who was recommended to us by a friend who had purchased a property in the Eastern Algarve. After months of being ignored by Estate Agents in Portugal and with an impending visit to Portugal and no houses to view, I reached out to Rebecca. Our first conversation put me at ease and I knew in my heart that she was “our person”. Rebecca listened to what we wanted in our future home and provided a spreadsheet of properties that fitted our criteria. Not only did Rebecca communicate with agents who had previously not returned my calls or answered my emails but also agents who usually won’t deal with other agents. We even got to view some properties that weren’t listed online. Rebecca arranged and escorted us on all the viewings and went above and beyond what we expected by accompanying us to the Financas for our NIFs, arranging an appointment with Millennium Bank so we could open an account and somehow arranging an appointment with a Lawyer minutes before we were due to leave Portugal. Rebecca is very knowledgeable, professional and hard working, speaks excellent Portuguese and was liked and respected by everyone we came into contact with. Rebecca was our one point of contact throughout and made what potentially could have been a very stressful time, really quite pleasant. “We had been looking for a property for two years around the Tavira area and then finally it was Rebecca that found us our 'forever home'. We were registered with every single agent in the town and further afield. Plus we had even rented for 3 months in an attempt to find our new home, but to no avail. By the time we met Rebecca we were pretty disheartened. Most estate agents either send you any new house they get (even though it is 100% the opposite of your search criteria) or they forget you the minute you walk out the door or the viewing! Rebecca spent the time to truly understand what we wanted and what we were willing to compromise on, or not. And as we knew every single property that was up for sale within a 15 minute drive, Rebecca spent her time ferreting out new ones that had not been advertised or even listed. The property we brought was never advertised on Idealista, Casa Sapo, Rightmove etc. Not only did she find us a property that was beyond our expectations, Rebecca was also invaluable throughout the negotiation process. We started €110,000 lower then the asking price and eventually settled on €60,000 less. In the current crazy property market that was some feat. Rebecca exhibited a brilliant understanding of the Portuguese culture and mentality to make this happen.
