“Coming from Canada, we were impressed by how Rebecca Jane Charles and Andy Knight made the process of finding a home in the Algarve so effortless.”
If you are looking for a property, Rebecca is the best. She does all of the leg work for you and trawls all the real estate sites for you looking for properties that fit the brief. In addition, if you see a property yourself and advise Rebecca she will find out all the details, such as how long it has been on the market, previous bids etc, all very useful information if you are thinking of making a bid. Using Rebecca made our property search so much easier and allowed us to only view ones that fitted the brief. In addition Rebecca really does get a good understanding of what you are looking for and will recommend ones that she feels will suit. In fact the property we did end up buying would have been discounted by us had she not persuaded us to view it.
All in all, if you want to save a lot of time and a lot of shoe leather then I would totally recommend using Rebecca's services.
Patrick Shanahan, PT
I would recommend them to any international buyer looking for honest advice and a buyer’s agent who genuinely has your best interests at heart.

I had a great experience working with Algarve House Hunters as my buyer’s agent while searching for a property in Portugal from the US
I can’t recommend Rebecca enough. We tried to contact estate agents direct, Remax, ERA etc… but they didn’t deliver, then we found Rebecca. She helped with our searches, booking viewings, providing background of the properties and also finding properties that we hadn’t been able to discover ourselves. Communication was superb with regular telephone and email updates.
We have found our perfect home now in Castro Marim,
thanks Rebecca, beijos (kisses) x

Rebecca is a super lady to work with. She listened carefully to our requirements and worked tirelessly to try to find our perfect property. In fact she managed to find us two! In addition to property hunting for us, she showed me where to buy Yorkshire tea and custard cream biscuits (two guilty pleasures that I hadn't realised I couldn't live without!).
She understands the Portuguese culture and has helped us to settle in to our new homeland without upsetting too many people. She has been a house hunter, advisor and is now warmly viewed as "one of the family". She also introduced us to Ana, our wonderful solicitor, to whom we are also grateful. Thank you Rebecca. We were lucky to have met you.

We started our search about eight months ago, through the internet. We sent an inquiry, Rebecca responded acting as a buyer’s agent to Algarve house hunters. We explained that we were living outside of Portugal and would be traveling back and forth. Rebecca was willing to work with us and after a few conversations we were confident that she would be able to find the right place for us. She worked tirelessly, at times also working with other agencies in order to expand our viewing inventory. She was diligent in helping us narrow down exactly what we wanted even though at times we were not sure what type of housing we wanted. She also gave us great advice on restaurants for us to try. All our phone calls were answered even on the weekends. All of her hard work prevailed, and we found our home. She is extremely devoted and her willingness to help made our transition to Portugal an easy one. We not only found a real estate agent we also found a friend. We would highly recommend Rebecca to anyone moving to the Algarve area of Portugal.

We had commissioned Algarve House Hunter to find a house for us in the Western Algarve. Mrs Rebecca Charles and Mr Darius Manea were able to suggest several properties that met our requirements and wishes. As we are from Germany and had very little time, they organised viewings at short notice and showed us very different properties. Once we had decided on a property, the sales process from the offer to the notary appointment took only six weeks. We had heard from other prospective buyers that it took up to 6 months with you. We are really very satisfied and can highly recommend House Hunters.

My husband and I had a fantastic experience with Rebecca and Darius from Algarve House Hunters. With us being in Ireland and having them as our buyers agents, it made the whole process very easy. They sent us properties, created a full list, made videos, arranged and accompanied us on all viewings and did video viewings too plus found out additional information and negotiated on our behalf. Thanks to their expertise, we found and secured our perfect place in Tavira. We highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy property in Portugal. Thank you, Rebecca and Darius, for making our dream a reality!

A stroke of luck!
If you are looking for dedicated, absolutely customer-oriented support in your property search and the realisation of your dreams in southern Portugal, you are in the best hands with Rebecca Jane Charles. With her expertise, her excellent local network and her open, charming and hands-on manner, Rebecca provided us with the best possible support for our project and helped us to realise our dreams. We are full of praise and glad to have her at our side. She deserves our special thanks! She was a particular stroke of luck for our "House in the Algarve" project and a benchmark for all other agencies with her willingness to perform.

Over the past 40 years my partner and I have bought and sold numerous homes on both sides of the Atlantic – London, Chicago, northern and southern California. We have never regretted a purchase and have always seen a profit on the sale. Armed with this experience, circumspect in business, and on top of the research of the pitfalls of buying in Portugal (or so we thought), we felt quietly confident with our first purchase here in the Eastern Algarve. We have never been so wrong. Overcharged, underrepresented, lied to – our hearts and pocketbook have taken a brutal beating. So, we're selling this house and moving to something more suited to our needs, budget and expectations for our quality of life. But we wouldn't be doing this, couldn’t do this, without the help of Rebecca and her team at Algarve House Hunters, with whom we have signed as our trusted buyers’ agents in Portugal. She heard our tale and, while her capacity for empathy was immediately apparent, we knew she'd need more weaponry than that to battle the truly overwhelming and precarious terrain of property purchase in this country. No problem. Rebecca is sharp, experienced, and extremely knowledgeable of the market. Essential, as there's no MLS search, Rightmove or Zoopla here, the traditional go-to for US and UK buyers. She understands and calmly navigates the soul-crushing swampland of bureaucracy with confidence. She is supported by a wonderful team, helping line up our mortgage options, addressing our legal requirements, even suggesting contacts for building/handyman help.

Our experience with Algarve House Hunters was exceptional. Coming from Canada, we were impressed by how Rebecca Jane Charles and Andy Knight made the process of finding a home in the Algarve so effortless. They provided a carefully curated list of properties that perfectly matched our needs and preferences, which saved us time and stress. Communication was excellent throughout — Andy was consistently responsive and helpful, ensuring a quick and smooth turnaround at every stage. We would not hesitate to contact Algarve House Hunters again in the future and highly recommend their services to anyone looking to buy property in Portugal.

I had been trying to sell my house in Tavira for over a year before I was recommended to Rebecca Jane Charles of Algarve House Hunter. My previous agent did a lot of work but the house went unsold for a long period. But with Rebecca things moved swiftly! First of all she used her creativity to do a small makeover. Secondly she promoted it through multiple international portals collaborating with other real estate agens who could bring in their clients. She made many viewings and I got regular reports, which were very helpful. And she was always there to answer my calls 24/7. Finally she even helped me organizing moving all the furniture etc from the house. As a Norwegian living in Norway it was crucial to have Rebecca hands on in Tavira. I strongly recommend Rebecca and her team if you want to sell/buy property in the Algarve area!

We had a fantastic experience with Algarve House Hunters. Rebecca Charles and Andy Knight were our exclusive agents and were amazing throughout the entire process. As we were out of the country for the majority of the time, weekly check-ins were organized, they stayed on top of new listings when we were struggling to find the right place, and they were always available to answer our questions.
Even after the purchase, Rebecca continued to support us with everything from utilities to insurance and advice on future renovations. Truly professional, reliable, and caring. Highly recommend Rebecca and the team if you’re buying in the Algarve!
We had an excellent experience using Algarve House Hunters for an Algarve house purchase while physically in the United States. Rebecca and her team were very knowledgeable and responsive. They guided us through the process and gave us genuine advice at multiple junctions. We are very satisfied with our representation and believe you will be too.
Rebecca and her team were phenomenal to work with from start to finish. We had worked with one other experienced and well regarded buyer's agent in the Algarve in a past, failed attempt to purchase, and working with Algarve House Hunter was significantly superior. Rebecca walked us through many unexpected challenges with professionalism and persistence, giving us sound advice, and putting our needs as a buyer first. I would highly recommend working with her and her whole team.
Algarve House Hunters made what would have a daunting and tedious task an enjoyable experience.coming from the U.S.A I had little experience with Portuguese Real Estate, after contacting Algarve House Hunters, Rebeca Charles contacted me and started setting up video chats while I was still in the U.S , through the video chats she was able to determine my likes in dislikes on various properties, upon arriving in Portugal, Rebeca and Karen Stanley were there with a list of properties to view, talk about hitting the road running! While viewing properties Rebeca with her list of contacts was able to introduce me to an attorney and a currency exchange person, this was a big help, now today a month and a half in I will be passing papers on a new property! Thank you Rebeca and Karen for making this project a most enjoyable experience!
Rebecca provided exceptional assistance in helping us find our ideal property in the Algarve. She showcased a great selection of properties that matched our criteria perfectly. Her knowledge of the local area was invaluable, as she offered insights that guided our decision-making process. Rebecca's professionalism and helpful demeanor made our property search a smooth and enjoyable experience. We highly recommend her services to anyone seeking real estate in this region.

If you are looking to buy a property in the Tavira and Eastern Algarve region then you should look no further than Rebecca Charles - I will tell you why. I initially went to the internet search engines; I spent hours listing properties, trying to find their locations and what those locations offered. Obviously we found it rather difficult trying to choose from 1500 miles away. A number of estate agents offered appointments on one or two properties but did not try to establish what we really wanted. To be quite honest - we did not really know ourselves! We were so lucky that when I contacted Algarve Property Hunters, Rebecca took my call………..and the rest is history!
Stephen, UK
We got this contact from Facebook, highly recommended. And so far, we can only say every word is true. From the moment we contacted, we lived still in the UK, Rebecca guided us and made our wishes transparant with an excel sheet. So we had an opportunities and No page. Some properties were sold before we arrived I. Portugal, but that is part of the risk we took. We settled ourselves on the Cabanas campsite and Rebecca let us view houses in our own pace. Luckily the second house was The one for us. But she still insisted to see more. Rebecca does the extra mile. And we are so happy to have her here in Portugal. It makes all the difference, being in a new country. (P.s. we have European passports, that made it a bit easier). Thank you Algarve House Hunters. If there were 10 stars we would give them too.

I honestly don’t know what we would have done without the help, knowledge and expertise of Rebecca Charles, Karen Stanley and Marcio at Algarve House Hunters. They have all been instrumental in the rather complex process of buying a house in Portugal. We are a British couple who work remotely and its always been a dream of ours to own a house overseas. This reality is finally coming true, and we couldn’t have navigated the process without the amazing team at Algarve House Hunters. Whilst we actually found the property ourselves (we are in the Algarve for a few months and have been looking for a year, so had a good idea of all of the properties we liked and didn’t like), but when we found ‘the one’ Rebecca and Karen were with us every step of the way; from the initial viewings, to dealing with the sellers agent and taking the time to research the area and make sure that this property was exactly what we were looking for.
Pam, UK
Working with Algarve House Hunter as our exclusive buyer’s agents was a wonderful experience. We needed someone we could trust to handle everything in Portugal while we were at home in the US, and they did a remarkable job. They took the time to really understand what we were looking for, put together a great list of options, and arranged all the viewings for us. Since they work with multiple agencies, we got to see a wide range of properties without the hassle of coordinating everything ourselves. They accompanied us to every viewing, asked great questions, and negotiated on our behalf. Buying a home in another country can be a daunting experience, but they made it so much easier. We are very grateful to Rebecca and her team for all their help and guidance! We highly recommend Algarve House Hunter for your real estate or relocation needs!

My husband Rob and I are moving from the UK to Portugal at the end of 2023. Rebecca Charles is a Buyer’s Agent who was recommended to us by a friend who had purchased a property in the Eastern Algarve. After months of being ignored by Estate Agents in Portugal and with an impending visit to Portugal and no houses to view, I reached out to Rebecca. Our first conversation put me at ease and I knew in my heart that she was “our person”. Rebecca listened to what we wanted in our future home and provided a spreadsheet of properties that fitted our criteria. Not only did Rebecca communicate with agents who had previously not returned my calls or answered my emails but also agents who usually won’t deal with other agents. We even got to view some properties that weren’t listed online. Rebecca arranged and escorted us on all the viewings and went above and beyond what we expected by accompanying us to the Financas for our NIFs, arranging an appointment with Millennium Bank so we could open an account and somehow arranging an appointment with a Lawyer minutes before we were due to leave Portugal. Rebecca is very knowledgeable, professional and hard working, speaks excellent Portuguese and was liked and respected by everyone we came into contact with. Rebecca was our one point of contact throughout and made what potentially could have been a very stressful time, really quite pleasant. We had a lot of fun along the way and we both feel we have made a very good friend. Quite honestly, she is priceless! Thank you Rebecca xx

I first met with Rebecca in Tavira through the referral of a friend . As a former Real Estate Agent, I was immediately impressed by her professionalism. She stayed in communication for an entire year as we explored property and area options. When we decided to explore the West coast of Algarve as well, she introduced us to Benjamin Seide (Also a consummate professional). We became fast friends with both Benjamin and Rebecca. They listened carefully to our needs, and provided accurate and valuable feedback. We purchased a home in Tavira, and plan to arrive in 30 days. In the meantime, Rebecca has gone above and beyond to connect us with the best places to exchange USD to Euros, scheduling cleaners, gardners, and pool maintenance. I highly recommend this team! They have made our move seamless and continue to do so even after deed transfer! Looking forward continuing our friendship once we arrive!! Forever grateful!

Rebecca Charles, Karen Stanley and Algarve House Hunter team did an amazing job for me. Coming from Idaho (USA) for my first time to Portugal, they made sure I saw several listings all over the Algarve so I could compare and contrast. I was very impressed they worked with other agencies for showings and also used their network to get me access to listings that were not advertised online. The communication was great, and I genuinely felt like they tried hard to get to know me as a person, so they could find a place that was the perfect fit. I bought a condo with their help and would absolutely recommend them as buyer's agent to anyone looking for their first time purchase in Portugal.

After searching for a house online for several months, we chose Algarve House Hunters as our exclusive buyer's agent. So grateful we did! The help and support of Rebecca Jane Charles and Karen Stanley were invaluable. They saved us time by listening carefully as we explained what we were looking for, then created a spreadsheet of potential homes, including some not yet listed online. We were able to review the homes, and as we offered feedback on each, Rebecca and Karen helped narrow our search. Their consistent clear communication, with weekly and eventually almost daily contact, along with video calls, helped immensely. We feel like Rebecca and Karen have become our friends and hope to keep in touch with them when we move into our new life/new home in Tavira! We are confident in highly recommending Algarve House Hunters.

We cannot recommend Algarve House Hunter enough, as buyers agents in the Algarve. Their hard work and dedication made our whole experience with them whilst searching for a property so smooth. They provided us with lists of properties, arranged our viewing schedule with many other agents and explained to us the entire buying process. They even helped us to obtain our Portuguese Fiscal numbers. They showed us properties that were not even online, something we would never have found without their help and expertise. We wholeheartedly recommend Algarve House Hunter to anyone looking to buy in Portugal. We want to thank Rebecca and Darius for all the help and support they have provided us with so far. You are both lovely hardworking people. Many thanks Yvonne and Malcolm, Malvern, England.

“We had been looking for a property for two years around the Tavira area and then finally it was Rebecca that found us our 'forever home'. We were registered with every single agent in the town and further afield. Plus we had even rented for 3 months in an attempt to find our new home, but to no avail. By the time we met Rebecca we were pretty disheartened. Most estate agents either send you any new house they get (even though it is 100% the opposite of your search criteria) or they forget you the minute you walk out the door or the viewing! Rebecca spent the time to truly understand what we wanted and what we were willing to compromise on, or not. And as we knew every single property that was up for sale within a 15 minute drive, Rebecca spent her time ferreting out new ones that had not been advertised or even listed. The property we brought was never advertised on Idealista, Casa Sapo, Rightmove etc. Not only did she find us a property that was beyond our expectations, Rebecca was also invaluable throughout the negotiation process. We started €110,000 lower then the asking price and eventually settled on €60,000 less. In the current crazy property market that was some feat. Rebecca exhibited a brilliant understanding of the Portuguese culture and mentality to make this happen.

“As a now retired expat Brit who has lived in Canada for 20+ years I spent several frustrating weeks chasing ads on Idealista etc only to be told the property was already sold so I reached out on a couple of expat Facebook groups for a buying agent and Rebecca Charles from Algarve House Hunters was recommended. I’m so glad we took a chance - after a couple of phone conversations Rebecca had a spreadsheet of available properties drawn up and we refined it together prior to our trip to Portugal. Rebecca set us up with a colleague in the western Algarve to do some viewings there before we travelled to the Tavira area. After an intense few days of viewings, arranged in advance by Rebecca, we were able to identify our dream home for which she conducted the negotiations on our behalf and we are now in the process of purchasing"

We had a fantastic experience working with Rebecca at Algarve House Hunter. We live in Washington D.C and she made shopping from afar easy. Rebecca asked us questions to learn more about us, our wants, needs, budget, and must haves. She sent us listings and looked at the listings we sent her too. She walked several homes before we arrived and continued to dig hard to find us the perfect home. She was in constant communication with us before we arrived by via call, text, and utilizing a live excel spread sheet. We had limited time in Portugal in the Algarve region to find a home before we returned to D.C. Rebecca was patient, professional, and kind. We felt like we made a life long friend and knew we had a trusted advisor in Rebecca. We looked at possibly 10 homes over 4 days. She took us to a home she just knew we needed to see. We fell in love with it but it needed some cosmetic work. In the limited time we had she was able to schedule us to meet with 2 different contractors to get their opinions. She took care of every aspect of the home buying process. She took us to the bank to open an account, made an appointment with a lawyer, and mortgage broker for us before we arrived. She set up all the appointments for us to see the homes. She didn’t give us her opinion unless we asked for it. She allowed us to make a decision. I recommend Rebecca with Algarve House Hunter 100%. She made home buying easy. I absolutely love her. Our experience was so good we are trying to do more business with her soon. I can’t wait to make the Algarve region my new home. Thank you Rebecca for making our dreams come true!!

It was a pleasure to work with Rebecca! Ben introduced us to her und she guided us professionaly through all the house visists and the buying process. She listened to our needs regarding the house and found wonderful properties to visit. Even when the process got challenging she stayed positive and guided us through the difficulties. She has introduced us to a lawyer and to an architect, who also did excellent work. Also personally we really appreciated the connection we had and that some laughter was always welcome. Thanks a lot Rebecca for all you did, we could not have done it without you!
